What is TEFAP?

TEFAP or The Emergency Food Assistance Program is a Federal program that provides food assistance to those who qualify. You must meet income eligibility guidelines of 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. To apply for TEFAP visit their website at www.azdes.gov and click on The Emergency Food Assistance Program tab.

There are financial assistance programs available to help low-income households with their utility bills.

What is Social Security?

Social Security is a government program that provides regular benefits to eligible workers and their families after the worker retires, becomes severely disabled or dies. The program is funded by Social Security taxes from employees, employers and self-employed workers.

Is there any special tax relief for seniors?

You may be eligible for property tax postponement for low-income seniors. If so, the property tax payment for your primary residence can be postponed until you sell the property or no longer live in the property. (A.R.S. §§ 42-17301-17313)
